On July 25, the Dalian Neusoft International Software Park, invested by Neusoft Group, which is the most excellent software & solution provider in China and Dalian Software Park Co,ltd, which is one of China’s top ten software industry bases—began construction. Some leaders from the National Ministry of Information Industry, Liaoning Provincial government and Dalian municipal government as well as some delegates from well-known companies of the Japanese Information Service Association (JISA) who had just attended “The First China Liaoning Japanese Week” were in appearance all more than 200 attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony.

     Neusoft Dalian International Software Park is an entire international cooperative park, which is based on the shared resources of Neusoft Group, relies on the good regional environment of Dalian City and DLSP, and aims to improve treats the software development and the marketing cooperation. It has truly become an international cooperative software park by integrating many aspects of the IT industry such as: developing software, opening up markets both domestic and abroad, undertaking IT education, training creative talents and incubating small & mid-sized companies by means of introducing internationally famous IT companies to DLSP. So the birth of “Dalian Neusoft International Software Park” means the beginning of an ecosystem for developing the software company which is supportive of international software cooperation.     Neusoft Dalian International Software Park is composed of Neusoft Software Development Base, Neusoft Institute of Information Technology, International Cooperative Industry Zone, an incubator for small & mid-sized companies, IT clubs and so on. The park occupies 450 thousand square meters in which the planned floor area is 260 thousand square meters. The total capital investment of the project is 1.2 billion RMB. The entire project is divided into three stages. The first stage including “Neusoft Software Development Base” and “Northeastern University NEUSOFT Institute of Information Technology” has been finished and is now in use; the second and the third stage will be finished in 2003 and 2006 respectively. When the entire park is in operation, it can admit nearly 15 thousand people working together to achieve the profit of 300 million US dollars per year.

    The construction project of NEUSOFT Dalian International Software Park not only signals that Neusoft Group has stepped into a new dimension of internationalization and scalization, but also established a firm basis for Dalian’s status as the “Sino-Japanese Software Industry Cooperative Strategic Gateway”. Meanwhile NEUSOFT Dalian International Software Park, created as a specialized park established for contributing to international cooperation, will play a significant role in promoting the cooperation of China and the world in the field of software.

    Dr.Liu Jiren, vice-chancellor of Northeastern University, Chairman & President of Neusoft Group, expressed in the news conference held before the establishment of the park that Neusoft Dalian International Software Park was an important part of Neusoft’s internationalization strategy. He believed that the process of internationalization was a necessary process for a software company. Compared with other industries, the software industry is becoming more and more internationalized. Economic globalization led to the globalization of software, software technology and its embodiment.
