On September 29, 2001, the ceremony was held for the first entrants and Hehao (the Deputy Major of Dalian City), Yangweiqun (the Deputy Director of Liaoning Higher Education of Liaoning Education Department), Zhangshikun (the Director of Dalian High tech Zone), Liuwenjian (the municipal Deputy Director of Education Bureau), Xiongboli (the municipal Secretary of Dalian LCCY), Zhangenru (the captain of Troop 1550), Wanglijin (the Captain and Political Director of Troop 1550), the leaders from the Sydney University of Science and Technology, Toshiba (China), Shenyang Shenzhou Digital Co., LTD., and the Northeast Branch of IBM attended the ceremony.

     At the ceremony, many significant lectures by Hehao, Yanweiqun, Liujiren and Dr Wentao were receiveded with warmth. The lecturers expressed their expectations and sincere wishes that the students could grasp their opportunities and treasure their valuable time to explore the world of knowledge in an enterprising, creative and down to earth approach. The Regulations Concerning the Awards For the Excellent Students and Decision of Setting up Shenzhou Scholarship was announced at the ceremony and five entrants were awarded with Toshiba laptops and certificates.
